Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pratyek, a WhatsApp-native household management service ("we", "us").

By using Pratyek you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. The service

Pratyek is a service that lets you forward documents, send voice notes, and ask questions via WhatsApp; it extracts and files structured information (bills, renewals, staff records, etc.) and surfaces them through a web dashboard at memory.pratyek.com. Pratyek does not auto-pay any bills, never handles payment credentials, and does not act on your behalf with third parties.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and the holder of the WhatsApp account you message Pratyek from. You may use Pratyek for personal household use; you must not use it on behalf of a business, organisation, or third party without our written permission.

3. Account & household setup

Your "account" is the WhatsApp number you first message Pratyek from. Multiple WhatsApp numbers can be linked to a single household account - e.g., you, your spouse, your parent - so the household has one shared memory. You are responsible for who you authorise into your household account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Pratyek for any unlawful purpose.
• Forward content that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically abuse the service.
• Impersonate another person.
• Send mass-automated messages or any kind of spam to or from the service.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to penetrate our infrastructure.

5. Service availability

Pratyek is provided on a best-effort basis with no formal service-level commitment. We will inform households of planned downtime where possible. A formal SLA may be introduced with paid tiers in future.

6. Pricing & billing

Pratyek is free to use right now. When paid plans are introduced, pricing will be communicated in advance with reasonable notice, and early households will be grandfathered for a defined period. We will never introduce advertising, data-sale, or behavioural-targeting tiers.

7. Intellectual property

The Pratyek brand, the Pratyek service, the website at pratyek.com, the dashboard at memory.pratyek.com, and all source code are our intellectual property. The data you send us remains yours; you grant us only the licence necessary to provide the service.

8. Termination

You may stop using Pratyek at any time. To delete your data, send "delete everything" to Pratyek in WhatsApp; deletion completes within 30 days, including backups.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. We will give reasonable notice except in cases of clear abuse or legal obligation. On termination, you have 30 days to export your data via the dashboard before deletion.

9. Disclaimers

Pratyek is provided "as is". We make our best effort to extract, store, and surface information accurately, but the service is software working with messy real-world inputs - bills get misread, voice notes mis-transcribed, dates extracted incorrectly. Always verify critical deadlines (insurance renewals, tax dates, medical appointments) against the original document or provider. Pratyek is a memory aid, not a replacement for your own judgement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Pratyek is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹5,000, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (e.g., a missed renewal you would have remembered yourself).

11. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Pratyek will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced inside the Pratyek WhatsApp chat with a clear summary. The "Last updated" date at the top tracks the most recent revision. Continuing to use Pratyek after a change indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
